A full-bodied red from Dunaj, a Slovak crossing partly descended from St. Laurent, from the Pod Valtickou vineyard. 15 months in barriques. Forest fruit, chocolate and a pleasantly spicy finish; the winemaker recommends decanting.

A family winery from Mikulov in South Moravia. Its roots go back to the years after the Second World War, when family founder Leopold Volařík took over vineyards from their former German owners; collectivisation interrupted the tradition, which could only resume after 1989. The winery in its present form was founded by Miroslav Volařík in 2007. It farms around 80 ha in the Mikulov subregion (part of it organically) and is one of Moravia's most awarded producers, including several titles of Champion of the Valtice Wine Fair.
