TURETWine Bar & Bistro

Our story · a wine bar in Vinohrady A place where time slows down

TURET is a cosy wine bar and bistro in Prague's Vinohrady, a short walk from I. P. Pavlova and Náměstí Míru. Come for a glass, stay for the story.

Our name comes from Turin. All over the city stand green cast-iron drinking fountains with a bull's head, pouring water for anyone passing by. The locals call them torèt – Piedmontese for 'little bull', pronounced 'turet'. We want to be just as welcoming: stop by, we'll pour you a glass and tell you what's in it. That's where the golden bull in our logo and the green in our colours come from.

We pour labels from long-established vineyards alongside producers we have only just discovered. You'll taste wines you won't find in an ordinary shop, and with every glass we'll gladly tell you where it comes from and who made it.

Whether you're a seasoned sommelier or simply curious, TURET is a refined yet intimate place to explore. No rush, no pretence – just people who love wine.

How we choose our wines

We go the opposite way to the mainstream. We look for smaller, lesser-known winemakers who make wine with care and a signature of their own.

Moravia is at the heart of our list: we work with four Moravian winemakers and pour around forty of their labels. We add wines from across Europe – most often Italy and France – and a few bottles from the New World, such as Chile, Argentina and Australia.

We don't serve natural or experimental wines. We want every glass to be clean and honest, a true expression of its grape and the place it comes from.

  • Smaller winemakers with a signature of their own
  • Moravia at the heart, Europe and the New World alongside
  • No natural or experimental wines
  • A by-the-glass list that changes almost every week
