Château Villhardy
Bordeaux, France
A tiny Saint-Émilion Grand Cru from Stéphane Bedenc, who since 2001 has farmed the sands and gravels of Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens, in the south of the appellation near the Dordogne (his main estate is Château Maro de Saint-Amant). The name Villhardy comes from his wife's maiden name, Hardy. The cuvée comes from just 0.7 ha of old Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines in equal parts, is aged in barrel, and only around 2,400 bottles are made.
