A winery in Hochheim in the Rheingau with roots in South Moravia: the Künstler family grew vines from 1648 in Untertannowitz (today Dolní Dunajovice, Czech Republic), which they had to leave after the war. In 1965 Franz Künstler re-founded the winery in Hochheim am Main, and it soon earned an international name. Since 1992 it has been run by his son Gunter, one of Germany's leading winemakers. Herrnberg is among Hochheim's best sites.
