Katarzyna Estate
Thracian Valley, Bulgaria
An estate near the village of Mezek by Svilengrad, in south-eastern Bulgaria close to the Greek and Turkish borders. It was founded in 2003 by Krzysztof Trylinski, who fell in love with the untouched landscape of the former border zone on a walk and decided to build a winery in the style of a French château there. The first harvest came in 2006. Today it is one of Bulgaria's largest and most awarded wineries.
