Winemaker
Château Léoville Poyferré
Bordeaux, France
A Second Growth (1855) in Saint-Julien, created in 1840 from part of the historic Léoville estate, once one of the largest in the Médoc. Since 1920 it has belonged to the Cuvelier family, Bordeaux wine merchants since 1804, who bought the neighbouring Château Moulin Riche at the same time. Moulin Riche long served as Léoville Poyferré's second wine; since the 2009 vintage it has again been a château in its own right.
