Winemaker
Boutari
Greece
One of Greece's oldest and most important wine houses, founded in 1879 by Ioannis Boutaris in Naoussa, Macedonia. Over time it opened wineries in Greece's key regions – Goumenissa, Santorini, Nemea and Crete. The Cretan Domaine Fantaxometocho near Heraklion was established in the early 1990s to show the world the quality of Cretan grapes such as Kotsifali and Mandilaria.
